HELRA Board Member

Cindy Anastacio joins us from the Royal Sonesta Chicago Riverfront Hotel where she currently holds the position of Director of Human Resources and acts as an Executive Committee member.

Cindy brings with her an immense amount of knowledge and expertise as she has held a distinguished 23-year career in Human Resources, with 15 of those years dedicated primarily to the hospitality industry and 6 years dedicated to her continuous groundwork with UNITE HERE Local 1.

Cindy began her hospitality career in 2006 at The Westin O’Hare Airport Hotel where Cindy’s track record of stepping into the challenge of change with tenacity and success began.

Cindy went on to gain a true understanding and appreciation for contract interpretations, diverse grievance and arbitration processes, contract expirations and labor strikes at The Westin Chicago Riverfront, The W Hotels of Chicago and the Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront.   

In a time where an organizations commitment to people has never been more critical, Cindy has demonstrated time and again what an accomplished Human Resources Executive she is. With an unyielding commitment to continuous improvement, Cindy has become a subject matter expert when handling employee relations, labor relations, wage and salary administration and operational excellence.

She takes tremendous pride in leading with integrity, inclusion and a collaborative mindset.

Cindy holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and currently resides with her husband and two children in the southwest suburbs of Chicago.

As a newly elected board member, Cindy is committed to providing endless support and guidance to HELRA’s member hotels and pledges to add value to their endless resources that will ultimately help improve their relationships with their respective labor unions.
