Larry Cuculic, who today serves as president and CEO for BWH Hotel Group, first joined the company in 2009 as general counsel. Yet, as he told LODGING, it is his background in the military—he is a West Point Military Academy and Notre Dame Law School graduate who received the Legion of Merit upon his retirement from the U.S. Army—that has most indelibly informed his beliefs about how to lead and prioritize under even the most challenging conditions. “I’ve evolved as a leader over time, but the values ingrained in me as a cadet—duty, honor, country—have motivated me to do my best on a daily basis,” he asserts.

Park Hyatt Chicago Resumes Operations Following Renovations

CHICAGO, Illinois—The Park Hyatt Chicago has resumed operations, unveiling a $60 million redesign of guestrooms and public spaces. Located in the Magnificent Mile neighborhood, the property has been a landmark Chicago destination since it first opened in 1980 as the first Park Hyatt hotel. Founder Jay Pritzker imagined a retreat that served as a home away from home for guests. AHLA Foundation Receives $1 Million in Donations for No Room for Trafficking Survivors Fund

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The American Hotel & Lodging Foundation (AHLA Foundation) announced a $500,000 donation from the Hyatt Hotels Foundation to launch the “No Room for Trafficking Survivors Fund” and expand the hotel industry’s ongoing work to support human trafficking prevention and survivors. In addition, G6 Hospitality and Extended Stay America have donated a combined $500,000 to the No Room for Trafficking Survivors Fund. The donations total $1 million.
